Our partner organization in Nigeria, Oria International Initiative, introduced us to Paikon Kore village in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Oria International Initiative has been working in Paikon Kore for quite some time and have developed relationships in the community. These relationships have established mutual trust between the community and Oria International Initiative, thereby increasing the success rate of implemented development initiatives.
In 2011, we conducted a baseline study in Paikon Kore and realized some staggering statistics about the standard of living in the community. While our strategy for engaging and partnering with each community will differ, our practical development goals remain the same.
