This may shock you, but the folks at PSH do not know everyone in the world. That means we need help! We need you to share what we're up to with everyone you know (and maybe get them to fork over some cash too). But fear not, you're not on your own in this: we'd love to supply you with materials to help you share the message. In fact, we can send you a DVD that tells the whole story, all you have to do is get people to show up!
Whether it's a one-on-one meeting in a coffee shop, a party with friends, or a church or community organization, we will do whatever we can to help you share what PSH is doing in the world. Read through the questions below and then fill out the form and we will get back to you very soon.
What is the purpose of a Poverty Stops Here Event?
The ultimate purpose of your event should be to help people living in extreme poverty by raising funds and/or awareness about their situation.
What if I need something that will help my PSH event be more successful?
If you need anything you think will help your event be more successful and it is not listed in the "Things you might need for your event" section, please let us know and we will consider creating such material. Bear in mind that PSH is self funded and we might not be able to field all requests. You can click here to view a document designed to help you plan and execute your event.
Can I use PSH's 501c3 tax deductible status to collect donations?
Unfortunately, no, it's illegal. This does not mean you cannot collect donations during your event; it simply means the donations will not be tax deductible. If people are interested in receiving a tax deductible receipt for their donations they can give through our website (http://povertystopshere.org/act-give.php).
Can I take pictures of my event and spread the word?
Absolutely! We encourage it. Consider taking pictures during your event and posting the pictures on a social networking site like Facebook or MySpace to spread the word about Poverty Stops Here.
